Pastor Barney was born overseas while his father was serving in the United States Navy. It was not until 2011 that he understood his need for a Savior and trusted Jesus Christ for salvation. Shortly thereafter, he felt God’s call on his life to preach.
Pastor Barney graduated from Broadway Baptist Academy in Muskegon, Michigan. He then traveled to Elgin, Illinois, where he attended Providence Baptist College under the leadership of Pastor Keith Gomez. Pastor Barney met his wife, Harmony, in Bible college and they were married in 2015. He graduated from Providence Baptist College in 2016.
Shortly after Bible college Pastor Barney worked as an assistant pastor under Kevin Szwarga in Terre Haute, Indiana, for six years before God called him to become the pastor of Abilene Baptist Church in September of 2022.
The Lord has blessed Pastor and Mrs. Barney with five beautiful children. They seek to raise their children for the Lord and are excited to continue to serve God in ministry together.
