We take the Great Commission very seriously at Abilene Baptist Church. We believe the message of the Gospel should be given at every opportunity. We have soul winning and bus calling twice weekly, while also looking for chances individually outside of that to give the gospel to a lost and dying world.
Many times, senior citizens feel forgotten by the younger generation. However, the Bible clearly states that honor should be given to the elderly among us. It is our desire to show Christ’s love to the elderly in our community while sharing the good news of the Gospel with them. One way we do this is by holding weekly preaching services at various nursing homes.
Each week we meet together to have a time of specialized training on different Bible-based topics. These classes are designed to help lay-people better understand Scripture and how it applies to their lives. This institute started with a vision from Bro. Mike Peters in 2023. The goal of ABI is to equip Christians of all ages and stages to be more grounded in their walk with the Lord.
